Dumpling Soup Recipe

Dumpling soup is a comforting and flavorful dish that combines the goodness of dumplings with a savory broth. Follow this simple recipe to create a delicious bowl of dumpling soup.


For Dumplings:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup minced meat (chicken, pork, or a combination)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Soup:

  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup bok choy, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Making Dumplings:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and water to form a dough.
  2. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix minced meat, chopped cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut out dumpling wrappers using a round cutter.
  5. Place a small portion of the meat mixture in the center of each wrapper.
  6. Fold the wrapper over the filling and seal the edges, forming dumplings.

Making Soup:

  1. In a pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a simmer.
  2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, julienned carrot, bok choy, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Allow the soup to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Gently place the dumplings into the simmering soup and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes.
  5. Once the dumplings are cooked through, serve the soup hot.
